Alexa Voice Commands not working

Featured Replies

After migrating from 994 to eisy, I cannot get Alexa to understand voice commands. She says "the hub is not connected, check network connection". I have linked my account and setup the skills in Alexa and I can operate the light from UD Mobile or through the Alexa app on my Android phone. I went through the verbal setup with Alexa and get the same error any time she tries to do anything with the light I am trying to turn on/off. Any ideas?

Specifically check the setting under "My Profile" when you're logged into ISY Portal. That should have preferred ISY set at the eisy UUID.

If you left the default settings in the step @MrBill links you to then you shouldn't have to do this. But if you've tried doing something manually it might be a missed step and might still be pointing to the old ISY994.

I migrated the Portal settings and "My preferred ISY:" points to the eisy

I can turn the light on/off in the Alexa app but voice is still not working. One thing, I noticed is that the Active Service name that appears on the Portal Integration is not listed anywhere on my ISYPortal. How do I set or change this name? The service name is registered. When I ask for "More Info", a web page comes up saying the account type is "Corporate". I do not see it pointing to my account at all. Is this the problem?

Update: I disabled/removed everything and started from scratch. Now Alexa can turn on one of my lights😊

I wish I documented my steps better but I think I had to reload the devices within Alexa app to get new "spokens" to work.

I think it was Add Devices, all the way to bottom to choose other (House with wifi symbol in it), Device doesn't have matching logo, Device needs to be setup using device manufacturer's app, Discover Devices.

I had to fumble around a bit to get everything working but it is pretty solid once it works though we do occassionally find that Alexa doesn't "understand" commands at times even though they work 99+% of the time otherwise.

I'm having this problem too. After migrating to Eisy, alexa seems to point to my old ISY994 ZW devices. using the above "add devices" or the spoken command "discover devices" doesnt find any new devices.  I can delete a device in the portal and re-add it with the "ZY" device and alexa will discover it but I'm hoping there is a way to do this without deleting all the devises I already have setup. Anyone know of a way?

log into the portal https://my.isy.io click My Profile in the top right corner of the page and fix the dropdown or changed the other option to all ISY's on account.

Thanks but that did not work. speaking "discover devices" did not find any new devices either. Would that require the old ISY994 to still be plugged in?
