Devices are not updating status.

Hello everyone,

Ever since I upgraded to the Eisy, I have noticed that a lot of my devices are not updating their status. Once I run a query, it then will update the status of that device. I'm trying to confirm if it is my PLM or just the Eisy. I also seem to have a few that will lose communication but then reconnect on it's own. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Generally when a device's status is not updated without running a manual query, it means that there is a link missing in the device, or PLM.  How did you upgrade?  Knowing that might help explain any missing links.  In any case, you can try right-clicking on the device and then clicking "Restore Device".  That will rewrite the links in the device with any links the Eisy thinks should be there.

I did follow the procedures as what was mentioned in the migration of the Eisy. But like everyone else, I did run through some issues and I finally had it working. I have tried quite a few times to do a restore on those devices with no change. From UD Mobile, I am still able to control them but it is not automatically updating those devices.

What kind of devices are we talking about - Insteon, ZWave? Have you looked in the error log?
You might be having communication problems.
They are mostly all Insteon and the few Z-Wave devices are not having issues. They are not all the same devices either. From IOLincs, Micro On/Off, 8 button keypads, and a few Switches. I have noticed that some of them show red led lights when pressed. I have even deleted them and reinstalled them but no change. I do have about 65 devices throughout, so it is not all of them reacting this way. The motion sensors are working fine too.

What about the error log?

Try right clicking on one of the devices in question and select restore device.

It really sounds like you are having communication issues.

Try right-clicking on one of the devices that is not updating its status automatically and choose "Diagnostics->Show Device Links Table".  Once it's done reading links from the device, click "Compare".  Post the results here and we can see if there appear to be links missing.
