kurelgyer Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 If I leave the Admin Console running on my PC for any length of time, I come back to this error pop up: "Socket Open Failed java.netSocketException: No Buffer space available (Maximum connextions reached?): connect" I sometimes have to click to close the error window scores of times to get rid of it (there are many instances). Any advice?

Any advice? The admin console was not meant to be left open for monitoring. It was designed to do a task and then be closed. Having said that, what UD hardware are you using and what is the firmware and UI versions? If you are running on either Polisy or eisy, the latest version is 5.5.9. Some versions before that had a bug that would give error messages about open sockets not being closed. If you are not on latest firmware, you should update. 2
MrBill Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 As @DennisC mentions upgrade to the latest version, but since this is posted in the ISY994 section of the forum there are a few things to bring to @kurelgyer's attention. If upgrading from V4 to V5, you should read the directions and then we should discuss that further before you actually do it, there's a few points that are important and a caveat or two.... If you're already on v5 there are two possible endpoints for you. If you don't have Z-wave, or have a 500 series z-wave board, then upgrade to v5.3.4. If you have a 300 series z-wave board, you can't go past v5.0.16C. It should also be noted that ISY994 is at end-of-life and no longer receiving non-critical updates. To upgrade to eisy you need to be on the latest v5 firmware before migration. 2
kurelgyer Posted March 17, 2023 Author Posted March 17, 2023 ISY 994i/IR Pro, ZWave 500 board, Firmware UD994 v.5.3.4 I've been running ISY hubs since the dawn of the ISY99. I have experienced this issue for several years, just finally thought I'd ask about it. It's not an insurmountable problem, but is quite annoying. Regardless of whether it was designed to be left running, I don't think this error is the way UD intends it to work. I am aware the 994 is at end of life. I look forward to updating to the Eisy in the future, but not until my needs warrant it and there are Matter devices I want to incorporate, or some other need. Currently I run Insteon and a couple Zwave devices. Does anyone have any suggestions to stop this error?
