How to add Acurite sensors

Hi,

Please excuse my ignorance as I am a total newbie to the eisy, polyglot V3 and adding nodes.  I think I have setup acurite and added my acurite user name and password.  I cannot figure out if I have to add my acurite devices or if they should just show up.  I would like to thank the developer for taking the time to create this.  If anyone could let me know what I should do now to move forward it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your time,

Dave

I've never used the node server, but looking at it, I believe it should create nodes for your sensors shortly after you enter the username and password.

It looks like it should have created a control node on startup and that node should have a "Discover" button. Clicking that will cause it to query for devices and create the nodes also.

You do have to restart the admin console after installing the node server for the admin console to correctly display the nodes new nodes.

I noticed upon further investigation that to use this you need:

Requirements

Here are the python modules required to use this node server:

  • requests
  • jsonpath-ng

Being a complete newbie I don't really know what this means.  If anyone could help explain how to do this I would be extremely grateful!

It is just information.  When the node server is installed, it will install those Python modules too as they're needed for the node server to function.  You don't need to do anything.

Set the node server log level to debug and restart the node server.  There will probably be information in there that will help understand what is happening.

Thanks so much for your time!  I figured out that I put in what I thought was the user name.  It worked logging in from the web but it was actually my email address that it needed.

Appreciate your assistance.
