Just curious, has anyone tried powering an eisy using a POE splitter?

Bruce.

UDI hasn't said anything about eisy being capable of being powered by poe

Use at your own peril.  If you are considering installing in a cabinet/junction box, make sure there is adequate ventilation.

Of course you will need an adequately sized separate PoE++ injector or PoE++ Ethernet switch.

Thanks for the info! I was missing the specs on the input power for the eisy.

If and when I try this, I’ll report results back. I just happen to be putting my eisy in a place with plenty of POE ports (need to double check which variant of POE) but not a lot of electrical outlets. It’s not a requirement for me but it’d make some things easier.

Verify the POE source voltage.

The eisy is strictly 12V DC from what I saw on its sales page.

Alas this idea isn't going to work for me, it turns out that 24W is beyond the power budget of a single switch port (UniFi US-8 60W). Oh well, thanks to all for the info!

Bruce.
