rick.curl Posted May 30, 2023 Share Posted May 30, 2023 I don't know if this is a hardware issue or a software issue. I never had a problem with Sunset until I migrated to Eisy. Now it's off by about half an hour. My time zone is set correctly and the realtime clock is correct, but in the Admin console I see sunset time given as 8:16PM, but the correct sunset time (for today) is 7:51PM. I'm running IoX 5.6.0. Where should I look for the problem? -Rick Link to comment
William Olsen Posted May 30, 2023 Share Posted May 30, 2023 Rick, from the admin screen select {configuration} Tab, make sure that if you observe DST that box should be ticked. At the {Change Location} drop down I actually put in my Lat & Long as a custom item, you could also choose your nearest city Just make sure that the {Timezone Offset GMT} is accurate Link to comment

If this was a time zone or DST issue I would expect the clock to be off by exactly one or more hours. It's only sunset that is incorrect, and it's off by roughly half an hour. -Rick Link to comment

The system time is correct, but the sunrise time is off by about 1 hour, and the sunset time is off by about 20 minutes. I only have 2 programs that use sunrise times, so I just added 1 hour in their If statements. I'm running an Eisy on IoX version 5.6.0. Edited May 31, 2023 by jaysmc Link to comment

Solution William Olsen Posted May 31, 2023 Solution Share Posted May 31, 2023 Rick, your elevation above sea level also affects your actual SR & SS times, that's why I suggested confirming your actual Latitude and Longitude as I did during my initial set-up of my Eisy. I've found this calculator easy and reliable: https://latlongdata.com/ Don't use a minus (-) sign when entering the Longitude as it will give an error. I hope this works for you.
