GaryK4
I upgraded from Java 8 to OpenJava 17. There is no javaws.exe file in this version. How do I get the console to startup? I don't want to have the old version installed. Link to comment
Solution Techman Posted November 16, 2023 Solution Share Posted November 16, 2023 The IoX Launcher supports Java 8. It may not support OpenJava (OpenJDK) You can try clearing your java cache and downloading the IoX Launcher again https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp Link to comment
GaryK4
The new versions do not have a control panel, so you can't clear the cache. Other programs require newer versions of Java. So, my isy console is basically dead? ☹️ Link to comment
Techman
The version of java you're running is open source, so there could be security issues. You might be able to install java 8 in a virtual machine, or you can use UD Mobile which doesn't require java. Link to comment
GaryK4
You must have read my mind. I have a Win10 VM running on Proxmox where I installed jre 8 and that works. Link to comment
GaryK4
Interesting, I found a program called IcedTea-Web 1.8.8. It did not work with start.jnpl. Did not find Iox. However, with admin.jnpl, it worked and brought me to the login. So now I can use Win11 or my VM. Link to comment
