Node Server inquiry: Sump Pump

Recommended Posts

Its time to replace the 20+ year old sump pump and also install a backup.  A number of them I'm researching have some degree of internet notification capabilities. I'm going to look into what those are, how open they are an if they have api charges, already support IFTTT, etc.

As I'm doing that, I'm wondering if anyone on the forums has a sump pump that has built in notifications and can provide information? I realize I can stick build the basics with insteon or other io modules.

As I'm getting back into HA I've seen yolink mentioned.. I didn't see that they packaged their products for sump pump monitoring. I'm Insteon on powerline and that limits me sensor wise.. more sensors will go in here and this looks like a project to get started.'

Thanks Dennis

I have a Yolink outdoor closed sensor device installed in my metal mailbox located a little over 100 feet from the hub. The device is working well and reports in a timely manor (1-3 seconds) after opening the mailbox door. I use the YoLink plugin to bring the alert in to eisy and then feed it to my Elk to announce You Have Mail.

So far all has been well with this.

I have also had occasion to contact both customer service & tech support and have been pleased with their responses and timeliness so far.

The plugin also is working well.

Just yesterday I was on their website looking at all of their sensors, they have a lot more then I knew about. Oh, they are also running a black Friday sale right now and the website pricing with the coupon is less expensive then the sale on Amazon.

I will be placing an order for both vibration devices (washing machine & dryer) and T&H devices for monitoring.
