srjacob Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 I have an ancient ISY99 that I am trying to load the admin console. I downloaded the console from the device using http://192.168.1.250/admin.jnlp When I execute it, it runs for a while and then gives me the error "Failed to validate certificate. The application will not be executed". I am trying to get the admin console so I can remove a defective keypad and replace it with a working keypad. I only want to do this once and get the network topography and change the links. How do I get past this java error?
Techman Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Clear your java cache, be sure to check all three boxes, then download the newer IoX Launcher from here: https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp This will put an icon on your desktop for the admin console
srjacob Posted December 6, 2023 Author Posted December 6, 2023 When I download the start.jnlp and try to run it, I get the error "Unable to launch the application", When i download the admin.jnlp, I get the error I described above. That didn't work.
paulbates Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 A certificate error indicated you might have virus scanning package on that PC (notion, McAfee, et al) that's blocking Java or the admin console. If true, See if you can disable the scanning/protection for the admin console
Brian H Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 I believe (old memories here). I also get a similar message when I tried my ISY99i. I think the present program will not work correctly on the ISY99i.

Brian H Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 I do not believe the ISY Finder goes back that far for the firmware in the ISY99i. There was an older administrative console program to access it. It my have also even been tied to what firmware is in the ISY99i. As I do remember getting later ones from time to time. As newer firmware was released.

If it is important to you, it might be time to upgrade to eisy.
Brian H Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Been a real long time now. I have used an ISY994i for probably the whole 16 years it was sold. Last time I accessed my ISY99i with the last firmware 3.3.10 released for it. Was with the Administrative Console. Released for that revision firmware. As the Finder was not released and each update had its own Console. Early enough Java so that the Security Tab had lower levels I used and not just the Hi or Very Hi choices. I believe it was a lower choice that worked. Never tried it but in the Java Security Tab. There is a place to put information in the Exception Site List. I think Java still asks about it but you can still run the program after an OK. If in that list.
srjacob Posted December 7, 2023 Author Posted December 7, 2023 On the current Java, the only security options are high and very high. I wan't to turn off the secuity processing so I can at least access the ISY99 and get my current configuration. Going to an Einsy or even a ISY994 isn't a great option since I would have to rebuild the entire Insteon network. Does anyone have any idea how do disable Java security processing? Does anyone know where I can get a copy of an old java that has low security processing?

Brian H Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Back in the ISY99i and earlier ISY994i days. There was no Finder. We had a start.jnlp file to access the Administrative Console. I believe it may also have been created for the firmware we where using. V3.3.10 was the last ISY99i firmware released.
