matapan Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Can you using a 2413U USB PLM with a USB to serial converter in place of a 2413S Serial PLM with either an ISY994 or eisy?
paulbates Posted January 15 Posted January 15 (edited) You don't need the serial converter if you use 2413U with eisy. ISY994i: You need a serial PLM eisy/polisy: Its easiest to directly plug in a USB PLM. If you have a serial PLM and you want to keep using it, there is a cable for using it on eisy and ISY. You might want to do that if the PLM is not old and its your existing PLM that knows your Insteon network Edited January 15 by paulbates 1
Brian H Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) You can not use a 2413U on an ISY994i. The ISY994i has no USB jacks for the converters USB connection. Also the USB jack is the B type. On a 2413U. I don't believe the power pin on the B jack has an optional +voltage connection. To supply power to the USB plug to power a converter. Most USB to serial adapters have the A style USB connector. If you want to use the 2413S on your eisy. It is best to use the one sold by UDI for that application. As it routes the three serial connections on the 2431S PLM to the eisy correctly and does not have a chance to get the unique. RJ45 style jack on the 2413S's serial pins incorrectly wired. https://www.universal-devices.com/product/serial-plm-kit/ Edited January 16 by Brian H Add data
