Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY) 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip a. ISY 26 - http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip b. It is very important that you use your current ISY's Admin Console to perform the upgrade by going to your http://your.isy.ip.address/admin. For MAC users, if upgrade fails, please try https://your.isy.ip.address/admin 4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 5. Choose the file saved in step 2 6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache 7. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only) b. http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only) c. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet d. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application e. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i - applet f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp - Java application 8. General instructions (especially for adding V2 thermostats) for the new features in 2.7.7+ can be found here: http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... hp?p=27368 Upgrading from 2.7.8 through 2.7.10 Upon reboot, ISY tries to migrate all configuration files to release 2.7.15 levels. This said, however, in the case of KeypadLincs, the following settings shall be lost (ISY will be out of synch with your devices) for those KPLs that were setup/configured in 2.7.8 or 2.7.9: a. Button toggle mode b. Button backlight c. Button groupings (in scenes or otherwise) d. Button mutual exclusivity As such, if you have setup any KPLs in 2.7.8 or 2.7.9, it's best to remove them from ISY, do a factory reset on them, add them back and reconfigure them. Alternatively - and you have not made massive changes using 2.7.8/9, you can restore your 2.7.7 backup (File | Restore ISY) and let ISY migrate everything. The notes only talk about upgrading from 2.7.8 through 2.7.10. Also, what do I need to do specifically to backup my programs? Last time I had a problem and tried to restore to a backup it did not restore my programs. Quote

I can no longer use the java application to access the Admin Console in 2.7.15 It now shows the same error regarding class file as the applet shows when trying to run the applet in the browser instead of in its own process. The error is something like "unsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file" I have downgraded to 2.7.14 as it is too difficult to change the java settings anytime I want to access my ISY. In about the middle of March I upgraded to 2.7.12 from 2.7.6. After the upgrade to 2.7.12, I lost the ability to directly access my admin console, I had to go through the universal-devices support website. I accessed my admin console just this past Monday evening, 3 May, using the Univ-devices website, without any issues. As of the evening of 5 May, I can no longer get to my admin console at all. I get: Applet com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet notinited at the bottom of the console window, using Firefox or Safari. I tried following the advice above from "Illusion", and was not successful. I must admit, I do not know how to set "timeout to 25000" so I was not able to follow that part of the instructions. This could all be a coincidence, or related to the new release. Any help would be greatly appreciated. NOTE: My internet connection was both wireless and by cable, with no difference in the result. The issue is that we need Java 6 functionality for the Admin Console and thanks to Apple, Java 6 32 bit support is only available on Snow Leopard (quite disappointing and frustrating). We will try to see if we can bypass (or even write our own code) for those functions that require Java 6 on MAC. With kind regards, Michel Quote

However, in the meantime, i cannot access my admin console at all. I assume that when you say that you need java 6 functionality for the admin console, you mean for 2.7.15? As I did not have an admin console problem through Univ Dev website for 2.7.12. Is it possible to fix the problem that prevented me from accessing the admin console directly (not going through the Univ Dev website) in 2.7.12? If that can't be fixed, i will have to go back to 2.7.6, and I have a number of newer devices, like dual band lamp lincs, upgraded thermostats, etc etc that could present a problem. Will all my programs still work if I go back to 2.7.6? But quite frankly, if I can't get to my admin console, I dont believe I have a way to go back to 2.7.6?????? In other words, HELP, please! There are a few features that require 1.6 including network optimization, icon image for dialogs, table sorter, chart utilities, and many more. Once again, I am running 10.5.8 Mac OSX, with the latest java updates from apple. I just have one quick question (...so far...): With regards to thermostats, I read this: The thermostats are represented by 4 nodes: The main node - this is the main thermostat node xxx - Cool Control - indicates when the thermostat is calling for Cool xxx - Heat Control- indicates when the thermostat is calling for Heat xxx - Fan Control - indicates when the fan is on/off Where am I supposed to see all these nodes? Right now under "My Lighting", I have a device named "Thermostat" (2441V INSTEON Thermostat Adapter v.28). But, this is the exact same thing I had on older versions, so I don't see any change. Am I missing something somewhere? I did follow the instructions and UNLINK the thermostat and then added it back in while it was 'off'. Thanks in advance for your help... and keep up the great work! You have a V2 thermostat dongle (firmware version should be >91 or above) 2. You have 99i series I suspect you do not have a V2 thermostat dongle. With kind regards, Michel Quote
jwagner010 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 After upgrading to 2.7.15 the strangest thing happend. I have two v2 thermostats that where installed correctly under 2.7.14 with the four nodes. After upgrading to 2.7.15 one of the thermostats lost three of the nodes. A few days later the other thermostat did the same thing and appeared as a single node. I removed them from isy and added them back. Each has four nodes again. So far so good. Very strange. Quote

Automatic update within the Admin Console fails due to the invalid length issue at 13% Manual upgrade works when accessing the ISY through Safari using Https secure access with timeout set to 25000 Snow Leopard does indeed fix the myriad of issue I have experienced over the last year with Java compatibilities. Small bug: When I minimize the admin console the icon that shows on the dock is the ugly house (which I hate) instead of the nice planet icon that is represented by the java application. All seems well. $29 operating system upgrade money well spent. Quote
