ISY-994 with Mesh Router & T-Mobile

I am having trouble getting ISY admin console to load after switching to T-Mobile home internet.

My setup:

Arcadyan T-Mobile (192.168.12.1)-->Deco Mesh (in WiFi Router mode 192.168.68.1)

When I have the ISY connected to the Arcadyan Gateway I am able to get the admin console to load but not when connected to the Deco.  Auto DHCP is checked within the ISY admin console.

When ISY is plugged into the Deco, I can see it on my network and the IP assigned directs me to the AJAX user interface.  However, I am not able to get to the admin console.  Clearing Java cache and doing all the troubleshooting did not resolve the issue. I even reset the ISY but it will not show up when connected directly to the Deco only to the Arcadyan. I tried to set a static IP for ISY and restart, then plugged into the Deco without success.

Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

There's a number of moving parts here. After connecting and starting the isy,

  • Can you look at the connected devices on the acadyan, is the isy there? Most routers have a page of connected devices and DHCP assignments
  • Same for the deco
  • I'd do ping tests from other connected devices and see what their subnets are and can they ping the isy

Can you look at that and respond back with that info?

Arcadyan has very limited settings (no control over DHCP). I can see it in the list of connected devices and have no issue with getting admin console.

I am not very tech savvy with networking.

Arcadyan is 192.168.12.1 and 255.255.255.0

Deco 192.168.68.01 and 255.255.252.0

If I were to try setting a static IP again which subnet mask should I use? Default gateway?

You've got an issue of two devices trying to handle DHCP (double NAT). The Deco needs to be put into AP mode.

I've got an Older Deco m9...in the app click

  • "More" on the bottom right,
  • then "Advanced",
  • "Operation Mode = Access Point".

This should DISABLE DHCP on the Deco. You will need one device plugged directly into the Arcadyan (if it has multiple ports. From there you can use all the Deco satellites as switches (usually they have 2 network ports...or at least the older style did).

The problem is if you're connecting the ISY994 to the Deco, but your computer is on the Arcadyan wifi then it's as though they are two different networks and not really talking one to the other.

Looking quickly online looks like settings on that modem/gateway are fairly limited. There doesn't appear to be a way to bridge or setup DHCP reservations on the modem.

I guess you could allow the DECO to setup DHCP and be on a "double NAT" network, but this could cause issues (like you're experiencing). The other option you have is to leave it as you have it. Just connect your computer to the DECO network. I would set it up as a different wifi SSID and use it 100% for anything that needs to talk to other devices on your network (i.e. computer -> ISY, computer -> wireless printer).

Another possibility is that the wrong port was selected to plug the cable into the acadyan. The deco's WAN port should be used to plug into an acadyan LAN port (if there more than 1). it can have yellow coloring

If the wrong port was used, both DHCP servers would be active on the LAN and explain the symptoms
