KPL Problem

Featured Replies

Yesterday, the “B” button on an 8-button KPL (2334-222) disappeared from  the device tree but the other buttons remained in the tree. Ultimately, I have factory reset the KPL three or four times as I have tried to get the button back in the device tree. Now, the KPL and all its buttons have disappeared from the device tree! Fortunately, I can still use previously created Alexa commands to control most things. And, where buttons on other keypads overlap I can use those  as well. It appears I may have a dead keypad. I am nearing age 80, and I don’ t want to face the challenge of replacing the KPL unless I have no choice. Any suggestions are welcome.

It is running on a MacBook Pro 2019, Sonoma 14.3.1, ISY 994/IR Pro. v. 4.9.0

I'd try to re-add to the isy to see if it really did disappear

I tried to relink the KPL twice. No soap. I got the message about insteon engine. I believe it is dead given the way one KPL button disappeared first then the device and, finally the remaining buttons. I used the link new device feature. Thanks. i have ordered a replacement.

Wondering about the plm.. How old is it?

That should not have erased it from your ISY though. For example, I have zero insteon devices connected in my home. My polisy is still connected so I can test Ra3 devices for @bpwwer. It still shows all of my insteon stuff regardless of communication.

The message you received normally occurs when the address is mistyped. If you try start linking, and use the set button, that will avoid incorrect address issues.
