How do I get custom messages in YoLink Speaker hub via Eisy?

Featured Replies

I know how to get a custom voice message into YoLink via the Yolink app but am curious, when I bring it up in the node server, I get the screen show in the clip below.

Where are the messages for this listed/created/stored? I'd like to be able to use this in my eisy programming.

Go to solution

I've not used it yet, but planning on it,  it's part of the PG3 plugin config.

  • Go to yolink plugin
  • Config
  • Scroll down to custom config parameters
  • Number of TTS, and then each gets a field to type the message in

I'm also making the leap that if you've added them in the app, try restarting the yolink plugin, that's when config changes are addressed

Thanks Paul. I will give that a try. I looked in config but comehow that didn't seem to suggest the answer.

(Almost as much fun as out early X-10 days, no?)

I am blown away by the Yolink stuff.... I have a temp sensor reporting orchard temperatures from truly 1/4 mile away!

Me too. I don't have the distance requirement, but I have 4 temp / humid sensors buried in metal / stainless fridge/freezers and they work and show strong signals.

Like any technology, its been a learning curve to get yolink's way of thinking (like how long between temp/humdity update), but everything's working

I'm getting there. It is a great compliment to an Insteon power line solution.. they both do a great job of what the other doesn't

Yes... or learning to drive stick shift all over again 🤪😂

After you specify TTS.  There is a parameter for number of TTSses

You need to restart eisy after saving the tts.  It may no longer be needed but earlier releases required it

Feel exactly the same way.   I have played around with so many z-wave items and left really unsatisfied.

The Insteon are really good at switches.

These yolink are great at low speed temp/humidity, leak sensors, and valves.

Now I'd like to see them get the local api they have been promising for a while on their web.

I have come up with a water leak turn off off solution. hardware and software, utilizing Yolink, for about $150 or less. If there is any interest I can post it in pics etc...includes a no-power solution and notifications.

Thanks Pauland Panda88.  I had initially used Paul's advice and was able to add 1 message. then using both Paul and Panda88's comments on the number of messages config, I was able to add more, you both solved this one, Thanks.

For those of you who do not know, Paul is considered a guru on HA from the diy

days of X-10 going back 30-40 years. He's seen it all.

@glacier991  I'd be interested in learning more about your solution if you don't mind posting the info!
