After a recent power failure both of my 2441TH Insteon Thermostats have gone to Celsius only.  I have tried the factory reset however none of the buttons work.  I can communicate via the AC on eisy, but that is it.  i can't manually change the temperature either which did work.  Maybe they fried?

I powered the HVAC off and then back on, pulled the PLM and tried to reset that way, but no luck.  All programs are in F, not C, so as a stop gap I am changing them.

Anyone know of another thermostat that doesn't need Poly's or add ons to be used by UD eisy if I need to replace these?  C isn't going to work for Wife long term.

The 2441TH manual I have does not have a physical reset button. It has a set button, beeper,LED sequence to do a factory reset. I can not say about real early versions of the 2441TH. Since it uses the 24VAC from the heating. It could be it is locked up.

Factory Reset to Default Settings
If you want to reset INSTEON Thermostat to its factory default settings, follow instructions below.
Note: If you choose to reset INSTEON Thermostat to its factory default settings, it is important that you
remove scene memberships from all controllers. Otherwise, controllers will retry commands repetitively,
creating network delays. Follow the instructions in Removing INSTEON Thermostat as an INSTEON
Responder above for each scene controller of which INSTEON Thermostat is a member.
Factory reset changes:
 INSTEON is reset (all scene memberships are removed)
 Day/time is changed to 12:00AM Monday
 Programming times, temperatures and other settings are reset to their default values
Factory reset does not change:
 Temperature offset
 Humidity offset
Factory Reset
1) Press and hold INSTEON Thermostat’s Set button until it beeps.
INSTEON Thermostat will beep.
INSTEON Thermostat Set LED will blink green.
2) Press and hold INSTEON Thermostat’s Set button again until it beeps.
INSTEON Thermostat will beep.
INSTEON Thermostat Set LED will blink red.
3) Double-tap Set button.
4) Press and hold Set button again for about 10 seconds.
INSTEON Thermostat will emit a long beep and its display will blink all segments.
5) When blinking/buzzing stops, release Set button and wait 10 seconds.
INSTEON Thermostat will perform a series of self tests, then return to normal operations.
INSTEON Thermostat display will return to normal.

This is in the FCC Database. Very original manual and may have not been in the released module.

Option 1

1) Remove power, press and hold Set button while powering up
2) Continue pressing and holding for ~10 seconds
Device will blink all segments and do continuous (Beep) during 10 seconds
3) When blinking / buzzing stops, release Set button
Device goes into factory reset for ~10 seconds
Screen goes blank, LEDs off
At completion display will briefly show a reset status code:
00 = successful reset
Xx = unsuccessful
4) Device will return to normal operations

Option 2 is the one from the production modules users manual. Posted already.

@Brian H Thank you for the second post, none of the buttons did anything while there was power.  I tried Option 1 and same issue.  Thermostat works, temp displays C only, and pressing any button does nothing.  Just as a last ditch since the Sensi isn't really matter compliant and didn't work, I removed the Tstat from the program, unplugged the PLM and tried both again.  The second (option 1) power removal option worked, and the upstairs 2441TH reset.   Going to try the same with the downstairs tomorrow.

IIRC the 2 Insteon 2441-WTH stats I had transmit all F degrees and ISY converts the temps to C. They are not capable of transmitting negative temperatures so transmitting C would limit your F range to only 32F and up. They didn't use signed binary so couldn't transmit negative values.

@larryllix, When I refreshed both of them C appeared in the AC.  Thanks to @Brian H And unplugging the PLM one is back to normal and I can report to anyone insterested in the Sensi touch 2 that it is not compatible with the UDI-eISY ecosystem and requires cloud data storage and sharing to operate.  Hopefully the downstairs 2441TH recovers as well so I never have to open the ecobee.

Happy (ish) to say that the full power removal reset and restore of the 2441TH both worked.  The Sensi was so much better looking I would have paid to keep it if it worked.  Ecobee didn't cover the hole and wasn't that much better looking so it goes back too.  Thanks for the help @Brian H.  The key is to unplug the PLM, and just as important, plug it in when you try and re-discover the 2441TH

Does ecobee not include a huge roundish plate to cover everything, inside the kit now?

I have a huge hole under mine. I wasn't happy with the size and looks of the wider white plate but it does cover that hole. Now my problem is the building is pressurized and whatever air they pump through the structure is what the stat sees.  I need to fabricate an insulated cover plate.

@larryllix, the truth is I never opened the Ecobee once I got one of the 2441Th to work.  The second one appears to have corrected however is isn't "calling", or the heater isn't kicking on, nor is the air for that zone.  The Thermostat says it is calling,   The way the door opens I can't test voltage, only wire continuity, so still without HVAC in the main part of the house.  🥶
