vandy Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I have a 2443-222 on/off module controlling my flood lights. My question is can I detect when the yellow sense 1 wire triggers the unit so that I can use that in a program? I want to know when just the yellow sense 1 wire turns on the lights. Quote
Techman Posted November 3 Posted November 3 On your micro on/off module, what is the sense wire connected to? Quote
paulbates Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) Yes. I have a lamp post photo cell connected to one to turn my premise lights on at dusk.. Based on light level. Same could be done with a motion sensor. Edited November 3 by paulbates Quote
Brian H Posted November 3 Posted November 3 When 120VAC is applied to the Yellow wire. With respect to the Neutral. The full manual would give you a good idea on how it is connected and works. It it is a high impedance input. We have seen reports of some photocell and motion sensors. Using a triac and not a relay. Having enough leakage to falsely trigger the module. Quote
vandy Posted November 7 Author Posted November 7 Sorry I took so long to get back with you, the yellow wire is connected to a small relay. I have a PE cell controlling a small relay and then the relay controlling the 2443-222 yellow wire. I have done this because of PE leakage even when they have relay outputs. What I was wanting to do is control the flood lite time on with my eisy and not the PE cell, but at the same time I want to control the flood light with just my eisy. I am doing this now but without the yellow wire time on part, it is now being controlled by the PE cell. I can turn Food light on and off at will and the PE cell takes care of any motion control. Thank you Richard Quote
Techman Posted November 7 Posted November 7 I don't have a 2443 to look at but could you eliminate the PE cell and use a Sunset/sunrise program to trigger the switch. If you need motion you could add an insteon motion sensor. Quote
vandy Posted yesterday at 04:04 PM Author Posted yesterday at 04:04 PM I could the Sunset/Sunrise program but does Insteon make an outside motion sensor, the only ones I have seen are indoors? Quote
Techman Posted yesterday at 04:12 PM Posted yesterday at 04:12 PM I've used the Insteon motion sensors outdoor for many years without problems. I have them mounted under eves so they don't get directly exposed to rain. If you have Zwave then ther are waterproof outdor Zwave motion sensors available from Zooz Quote
