can you provide a link to the filter you got, and Price for unit and install?

NCSTATE1978 on page 4 of this disccussion gives an image of the Enphase filter that solved his issues, which were the same as ours (blinking and communication lag)..

@NCSTATE78 I know it sounds like I am stalking you, but you appear to have solved the problems that I am also experiencing.

Currently, my installer is recommedning a Gapped Ferrite (65 A) filter on 4 lines. If I recall correctly, this was a "solution" that sort of worked, but not completely.

Is there an way for my installer to contact your installer to discus your specific installation to see if we are similar. I wish I knew of a way to Private Mesaage you so I could give you my email address so we could exchange the information that would better ID us for the installer communicaiton.

Thanks

You can give it a try. My installer missed installing the ferrite cores that come with (and are placed inside) the powerwall3. They installed those and that did not help with insteon. The filters you referenced aren't the same, but are similar to those that tesla provides, so while I don't have experience with those specifically, Ferrite cores in general didn't make a difference for me.

The service manager that helped me with this issue no longer works for my installer and without a direct contact, it's not likely you'll get very far without hiring them to service your system.

You can try the ferrite cores, but if those don't work, as I mentioned before, I can tell you that the filter I posted above worked for me.

@jkraus I did a little Google search using RPC1508-64. Several good hits. The Enphase page gave me a price around $420. There were some imdependent sources that were around $350 and EBay source in the $230 range. Obviously, there were would be an installation charge and electricians are not cheap.

@NCSTATE78

Thanks.

Strange that my installer (who does not have a forum id/pw) can no longer see this thread.

I thought about installing a filter to resolve my communication issues, but my installer refuses to do this. They claim that Tesla has told them it will void any and all warranties. Anyone else hear this?

No. One of the engineers with my installer has been working with Tesla on this very issue. He, along with Tesla, developed a Ferrite Core, similar to one discussed in this thread. They are familar with the Enphase In-Line filter that was the solution for NCSTATE1978. Right now, they are working on estimates for both solutions. I want to know the difference in the labor and other materials since they did say they would refund the cost of the Ferrite Cores if those did not work. They are leaning towards the Ferrite Core since it has been successful in a couple of other installs. However, I do not believe the other installs had INSTEON or EISY as part of the environment. Just dimmer switches.

As far as I can tell, Tesla is aware of the issues and has not said anyhting about voiding the warranty.
