Bulb and Group name changes

I changed the name of the some of the hue bulbs, rooms, and zones (also deleted a couple of zones) using the Hue app, but I can't seem to get the Hue plugin in PG3x or IoX to update the changes.  I had done a name change of a room and it updated before I did the rest of the changes so it seems as if it’s possible.  I just have no idea how to initiate the change.  I also don’t know why the one random room name change updated but when I made multiple changes I can’t seem to get anything to update.  I’ve tried multiple node restarts, tried reboots in IoX, even tried power cycling.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply.  The changes are being made in the Hue app on my iPhone not in admin console.  I am trying to get PG3x and admin console to reflect the changes I have made in the Hue app.

Unsure how this works, but remember that the Hue plugin hasn’t been updated in a long time and isn’t using an official API for its workings.

My suggestion is after you make the changes on the phone app make sure you aren’t logged into the Admin Console. Open the web access for PG3x and restart the Hue plugin. It might pick up the new light names. You might have to do this several times. Once you see the new node names in the web access then log out of that and open Admin Console. It should then update the names to match the PG3x nodes seen on the plugin.

If simple restarts of the plugin don’t help you might have to remove the old device names and then restart the plugin.

I would suggest you get things setup the way you want them before connecting the plugin in again because it apparently isn’t instantly updating device names.

I tried many restarts with no luck.  I ended up just deleting the nodes in pg3x that I had changed or deleted in the Hue app (hub).  With a pg3x restart, it added the nodes I had deleted in pg3x with the newly named nodes from the hue hub.  The downside was that all of the nodes I had deleted in pg3x were removed from any scenes or programs in admin console even after reloading them.  I suspected that might happen so, before I had made any changes, I took pictures of all scenes and programs within admin console that were using the old nodes to make it easier to reconstruct.
