I appreciate the team getting things corrected on a New Years day. I have asked but remember its a holiday and everyone at UD should be praised for getting this back up on a holiday. I know companies whose cloud went down on a friday and they did not touch it until Monday. 2 Quote

All programs also run. Alexa would be down for the ISY skill so it would require a switch or old fashion virtual switch. Thanks for the reminder! I checked on UD Mobile, I hadn't yet set up the local connection settings, and was depending on the remote connection. That's fixed now. But, since my wife has habituated the use of Alexa for light control, I'm still likely to be one of the first people showing up here should the portal go down again. 🙂 Quote
KSchex Posted Wednesday at 03:23 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:23 PM Looks like portal is still down this morning. Alexa is a dead HA dummy. Happy New Yeay! Quote
DKump Posted Wednesday at 03:33 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:33 PM I have ISY portal connected to Google Home. It's still down for me. I saw a comment about relinking. Should I wait or relink? I'm not sure how to relink other than remove and add device again in ISY portal. Afraid to do that if it's not fully recovered. I haven't seen an announcement saying it's down, so not sure how long to wait for an announcement that it's back up. Not sure what to do, but still down for me. Quote
wb6dao Posted Wednesday at 03:36 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:36 PM Up for me in Los Angeles. Took a few minutes but Alexa is back to her usual self. Many thanks to the team for fixing the problem. Quote
bigdog Posted Wednesday at 03:37 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:37 PM I am now able to use UD Mobile again, but not Alexa. It said the skill wasn't installed and when I try to install it is says there is no valid portal account when I try to log in through the Insteon skill. Except the portal appears to be ok now. Quote

See @macjeff’s post here Are you sure? If you browse to https://my.isy.io/, can you log in with your ISY credentials (many of us can now)? If so, then you probably just need to relink your service (Google or Alexa). 37 minutes ago, DKump said: I have ISY portal connected to Google Home. It's still down for me. See @macjeff’s post here You have to go into the Alexa app and re-enable the skill. It will take you through discovery and then likely say it didn't find anything new (since it will remember all the devices you had connected). Just click on the option that says something like "my device is already in the list" and you should be good to go. I did this about an hour ago and all is working normally. armymutt Posted Wednesday at 03:46 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:46 PM Back to normal here in NC. Alexa did some weird stuff and started collecting devices with the same name, so I'm going through and trying to simplify things. Probably some house keeping that needed to be done anyway. Everything with a Hue bulb now has an Insteon keypad between it and the supply. Quote
macjeff Posted Wednesday at 03:55 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:55 PM **** Please Read **** There is a lot to respond to, and I am trying to wrap up some of this before all the football games start. Prayers to any of you in the New Orleans area or if you have anyone in that area. The portal is back up. It seems to be catching up, but if you go to https://my.isy.io/index.htm and log in, you should see a GREEN DOT next to your EISY. I have more than one; it took 30 minutes longer to come online. Alexa should follow shortly. If it's still not working within the hour, log into the Admin Console and, under configuration, choose reboot. *** It should not be an issue, but I always recommend backing up before any reboot. Last, there are several comments about the EISY being so dependent on the portal. I mentioned in other posts that you should set up local connections for Admin Console and UD Mobile. That way, it's not as dependent. With that said, other hubs like SmartThings™ and Insteon all have cloud dependencies. That's pretty much how Alexa works. Google Home—I don't use it, but if the reboot does not work, it could still be an issue with the portal. I can confirm Alexa is working. Can anyone confirm Google Home is working for them? Happy New Year, everyone. I will try to monitor this today. If you can't connect after trying the above, you can PM me, and I will try to help. 2 Quote
bigdog Posted Wednesday at 04:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:12 PM I am trying to re-enable Alexa. Overnight it looks like Alexa deactivated the skill. Last night, it told me I needed to reconnect the skill, which of course it wouldn't do. This morning the skill was gone. So I tried to add the Insteon skill back and link it to my account, and it says "No Valid Hub Subscription For This Account". However, I am able to log into my account on the web isy portal. All my devices are still listed in Alexa however it says the server is unresponsive. Quote
bigdog Posted Wednesday at 04:20 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:20 PM I keep seeing responses here that we need to reenable the skill. I am trying to reenable the Insteon skill as described. The problem is that I can't get past the "No Valid Hub Subscription For This Account" message. That is a show-stopper. Quote
pilotguy13 Posted Wednesday at 04:24 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:24 PM (edited) For those who are trying to re-enable Alexa and do this stuff once in a "never", On the App, main Home page, at the bottom, the 3 lines, tap that, select Skills & Games, and in Search Alexa Skills, type isy, and select the appropriate one for you. For me it was the "isy optimized for smart home v3" I needed to select Re-enable, log in info entered, and then it errored saying it couldn't find anything new, but everything began working at that point. dantoronto Posted Wednesday at 04:43 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:43 PM Thanks so much to UD team for their great support. Timing was weird, came home from a new year's celebration to a dark unresponsive house. Thanks Quote
bigdog Posted Wednesday at 04:45 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:45 PM To re-enable the Alexa Skill for Insteon, if I search for ISY, there is nothing listed for Insteon. If I search for Insteon then I can find the skill. Is this the correct skill? Other are enabling ISY skills. Quote

bigdog Posted Wednesday at 04:49 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:49 PM Ok, I figured out the problem. I needed to use ISY SmartHome skill. NOT the Insteon Skill. Thank-you to pilotguy13 for the clue. Alexa is working again. Quote
oberkc Posted Wednesday at 05:15 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:15 PM (edited) google home not working for me My google devices were showing as offline. When I tried to relink the "works with google" account with the portal, it showed as successful but the existing devices continued to show offline. (Perhaps I should have searched for new devices?). I unlinked the account and relinked, which appeared to be successful, but it lost all the devices and broke the related automations and I had to re-add and recreate. This appears to be working. DKump Posted Wednesday at 05:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:27 PM I also get the error below with Google. I have a green dot next to my device. "Error sending your spokens. Is Google Home linked with this user profile (xxxxxxx@gmail.com)" Quote
gweempose Posted Wednesday at 05:41 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:41 PM I tried re-linking the skill to my Alexa account this morning, but it didn't work. I just tried again, and now it worked. Everything appears to be functioning properly for me again. Thanks for taking care of this so quickly, guys! Quote

For the Alexa skill go to the alexa app on your smart phone Go to Skills and go to the tab with three dashes (known as Hamburger Menu) Go to the skills button. Search for ISY. Disable the skill and re-enable it. make sure you use ISY optimized for smart home v3. It will ask you to authenticate with your portal settings. Once done it will discover devices. It should link fine with portal now as pointed out by others. As far as google home goes- looking into it. 1 minute ago, NorthernPike said: Same with me. Google home is still broken perhaps? Looking into it. Have a message into UD. Not too familiar with google home. 1 1 Quote
macjeff Posted Wednesday at 06:17 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:17 PM GOOGLE HOME- Have those with google tried doing the same thing. Unlink Google Home from the google side and they add it back. thats what UD is telling me will fix the issue. I just cant test this one. Quote

I was able to get Google Home integration working again by opening the Home app, going to settings, selecting Works With Google, selecting the Universal Devices icon and clicking Reconnect Account. It had me sign back in to the Portal and my devices started working again. 1 Quote
