I have an old mini inteon remote that the address has worn off.  Is there a way to add it with out knowing the address?

You can try Start Linking under Link Management and put it into linking mode (Press and hold Dim and Bright at the same time for 10 seconds)

Not as easy as Start Linking but if it does not work.

Manually link it to a module. Then do a link list of that module then a compare. The link address not known by the ISY Administrative Console. Is the remotes six digit Insteon ID.

Yup, I've done it that way. Link it to a spare lamplinc or other module not being used it your home, then link to the lamplinc, selecting "Add devices found in links and keep existing links". Then look at the lamplinc's link table. Works with battery powered devices like mini controllers, open / close sensors, motion detectors.
