Posted March 21Mar 21 Hello, I am trying to get an alert when the USPS truck arrives but the Camect plugin wont trigger. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, Mike2545
March 21Mar 21 We'll need more info to help. Can you say how you've tried to approach it? Can you copy your programs and paste them in a post here so we can ask better questions?
March 21Mar 21 Author Paul, thank you for the reply. I have watched the mail truck pass the camera and it does not trigger USPS. I have attached an image of the program that should work if the trigger is passed to the eisy.
March 21Mar 21 Ok thanks. let's break it into pieces First, do you have a way to tell if the camect system is able to detect the USPS truck on it's own, like with an app? Another test is to see if the mail notification is working a expected. In iox, right click on the program and pick Run Then. This will force the other to run and see if the mail notification configuration is working. Try those 2 things and let us know how it went
March 21Mar 21 Author Paul, yes I can log into Camect and click on alerts, filter by mail truck and see that it recognizes the mail truck with its software. Run then on the program sends me a text message, so that is configured correctly. In iox clicking on USPS in Camect triggers the program. I can change the program to trigger with person, truck, car. USPS is not triggering in iox.

There was a change in 5.9.1 related to this so hopefully it didn't break it. I'll setup a test on my system to confirm. Also you can watch the status in IoX for anything that may be detected and confirm the status changes.
March 24Mar 24 Author JImbo, I am running iox v5.9.1 Can confirm status changes in iox for person, car, truck etc... but not USPS
March 30Mar 30 Sorry for the delay, very busy week. I was able to look at this and see that Camect has changed "USPS" triggering which shows up as an error in the log: 2025-03-29 11:08:04.495 Thread-25 (run_until_complete) udi_interface ERROR Camera:detected_obj: Unsupported detected object 'USPS truck' Previously there was only 'USPS'. I'll try to get an update out soon, I'll add 'USPS truck', 'USPS car' and 'USPS pickup'. Ill try to keep 'USPS' being triggered for any of them, but might be easier to change it to 'USPS truck' and add car & pickup.
March 30Mar 30 Question for all Camect Plugin Users, In my opinion I don't really see a need to have USPS car, truck, & pickup as their own drivers? Same for Amazon, UPS, DHL, ... Just have one that does them all? We could still have separate status's for each... But that being said, the simplest option to get the fix out sooner would be to just change USPS to 'USPS truck' and add 'USPS pickup' and 'USPS car'. I will probably do that later since it's easier and I don't have a lot of spare time right now. - Jim
March 31Mar 31 Author Jim, thank you for taking the time to investigate this issue. I can't speak for all Camect users, but for me just an alert on USPS, it really does not matter if it's a car or truck, etc... Kind regards, Mike2545
April 17Apr 17 Author Jim, I know you have been busy, but is there an estimate on when you would be able to work on this?
April 28Apr 28 Jim, I know you have been busy, but is there an estimate on when you would be able to work on this?Yes it's been crazy with the holiday, preparing my current home to sell, buying a new home in another state and random family visits... But my family left today so I've made some fixes and released it to beta so I can test on my production system.Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
