I think a java update broke my launcher

My mac popped up a java update and i clicked ok.  Now when I click the launcher it shows the icon on the screen then quits right away.  does not load the launcher finder window or anything.  Anyone else experience this?

When java is refreshed, you need to re-download the launcher:

Delete existing links/icons first

I had the same issue with the current Java update. I had to uninstall Java and re-install, that resolved the problem..

Did you still redownload the current java version or a specific build?

I installed the latest version, Version 8 Update 451 (build 1.8.0_451-b10).

did that and it still gets stuck.  redownload start.jnlp and it looks like its doing its thing but stuck at downloading application.  Even though thats there the iox launcher gets added to the desktop.  if I click that it looks like its gonna start with the UD logo on screen but just quits.  Not sure where to go from here.

Did you clear your java cache, checking all 3  boxes, before downloading the IoX Launcher from here:

I ended up updating my mac OS and rebooting then clearing java cache and redownloading the start.jnlp which seems to have fixed it. But it didnt make my iox launcher shortcut for me.
