dinostop Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I have 7 zwave micro switch for lights and theee seems to be a delay from one light to the next turning on at often some Don’t turn on is that common? I currently have Polisy and the other question I have is the eisy with matter better range? Is it worth the added cost to upgrade? Quote
Techman Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago What is your current Zwave controller? It's possible that your Zwave mesh network is marginal, you may need to add a Zwave range extender Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Plus Range Extender ZAC38 - The Smartest House Quote
dinostop Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago @Techman I’m currently using the Polisy which is located in the same room as the lights and switch. I can’t remember if my micro switches are 700 series or not. Quote
Techman Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago What Zwave controller is connected to the Polisy, i.e. the UDI Zwave/Zmatter or ?? Are your micro switches embedded in a metal box which is recessed in the walls or ?? What is the make and model of your switches? What type of load is connected to the switches, i.e. LED lights, incandescent lights or ? Are the loads all 120 volt or are they low voltage with a transformer between the lights and the switches? dinostop Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago @Techman my Polisy has the zwave controller built in with the zwave and zigbee antennas on it. the micro switches are mounted in the light fixture boxes lights are led bulbs connected not sure what model the switches are but I got them about a year ago. Techman Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago It's possible that your Zwave and Zigbee antennas might be reversed. Other than that I don't see anything else that could be causing you problems. Is your Polisy located in the open, i.e. not in a metal cabinet. Quote
dinostop Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago @Techman yes it is the the open. Would the eisy with the new dongle work better? Other zwave devices in the house for the most part work and I have a 2 story house it’s just the delay and sometimes lack of lights in the basement turning on. They are all programmed to turn on at the same time with 1 switch due to all the lights were wired on different circuits. I should have mentioned that part. Quote
Techman Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The eisy and the polisy use the same Zwave dongle so there would be no advantage in ypu switching over. What is your Polisy firmware version? What floor is the Polisy located on What floor(s) are your switches on? Zwave is an RF only protocol so having the lights on different circuits would have no effect on the communication between the Polisy and the switches. It sounds like your Zwave mesh network is maginal. I think the Range extender I mentioned in a previous would probably solve your problem Here's a link to a Zwave tutorial: Z-Wave For Consumers - Z-Wave Alliance I've also attached a file that explains the Zwave mesh network ZWAVE network repair.pdf Quote
