Eisy-ui replace AC?

I guess I misunderstood the purpose of eisy-ui.  I thought I read it was to get rid of the java based AC.  I finally got eisy-ui working after following the instructions of bmercier including sudo service eisyui start.

However, I don’t see this as any replacement for the java UI.  There’s nothing dealing with programming or variables, etc.  Did I miss something or is that part still in the works?

It's my understanding that eisy-ui will completely replace the Java based Admin Console.  This is an excerpt from the eisy-ui Wiki:

These are the design goals of eisy-ui:

  • Provide a nice and configurable web based dashboard to interact with your home.
  • Get rid of our old Java based Admin Console.
  • Integrate the plugins system in the same web interface.
  • Simplify access to your eisy by using standard http (80) and https (443) ports for everything.
  • Simplify access by using only one set of user/password: Your portal username and password.
  • Continue to support both local-first operations and still provide cloud capabilities.

eisy-ui is still beta software, and many features will be added in the coming months.

@mbking is correct in that its not ready, today, to fully replace the the AC today as its exiting alpha and entering beta.

What I appreciate is UDI giving customers the chance to test, respond and comment.

Thank you.  I skipped right over the mention of beta in the official release post.  Looking forward to further additions to eisy-ui.
