larryllix Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Could you not flash the ssd and restore a backup?I will be doing that also. I tried that last time but the SSD was pooched and not recoverable.I have ordered another SSD and if I read this right, the larger drives have more RAM and space for the bit gateprotection schemes used to slow down memory wear and tear. The SSDs included in the Polisi units were too small and don't last long. This is my second Polisy SSD burn out now.Sent from my SM-S711W using Tapatalk Quote

Sent from my SM-S711W using Tapatalk Trying to upgrade just bricked my polisy as well. I had just flashed the image from UD to a 128gb ssd. All worked fine until the upgrade at which point is just stopped working. I pulled the drive and put it on pc and found that the flashed imaged only used 3gb of the 128gb, leaving the rest unallocated. Perhaps it didn't have enough space to run the upgrade? Regardless, I would like expand that volume and use the whole 128gb. But I have no idea how to do that on a linux ssd. None of my windows tools that do that to a windows disk would do it. At this point I am back to the way I was this morning, working polisy. Quote

If you saw my first post about the two test Polisys that I attempted the upgrade on, the first one I did showed me a similar strange setup with only about 3 GB or so being used, and a filesystem using 512 byte blocks. I had recovered that particular Polisy using the disk image that UDI had me download, like you. I ended up recovering it another way (cloning the SSD of another Polisy) but what I *think* might have happened could be a mistake when I ran Rufus. When you select the image file to restore, you really need to choose the file correctly, as per UDI's instructions: From Boot selection, choose Disk or ISO image (Please select) and then click on the Select button which allows you to pick polisy.13.img that you downloaded previously The mistake I probably made was to pick the "polisy.13.image" directly in the Boot selection list (it does appear there), instead of selecting "Disk or ISO image (please select)", then select "all files" (by default the list shows iso files) and then pick the "polisy.13.image" file. I can't say for sure because I had restored that Polisy several months ago. But I can see how easy it would be to make that mistake. The funny thing is that the Polisy still worked, but with the much smaller disk size. Quote

I then rebooted it, ran the update and about 20 minutes later it rebooted to the new firmware. I followed the instructions on this youtube video to resize the partition. Note, zroot should be replaced with zudi 1 Quote

However I found DiskImager.exe handled it no problem with larger SSD sizes. Where do I find these polisy13 images. I have an apparently bad image and one that I just ruined by loading the old image over top of the polisy13 image. I am currently attempting to start one of my two polisae from scratch again and can't figure out how to get this image on the SSD again. Michel had previously emailed these to me, but I cannot find any trace of the file in my backups or emails or support tickets. (responses all seem to be missing now) Edited 6 hours ago by larryllix Quote

It would be a rather large file to send as an email attachment. 14 minutes ago, apostolakisl said: It appears i just succeeded. I figured out how to expand the partition to use the full ssd drive. With the partition previously being 3GB, that could be an issue. Quote
