Steve Vollstedt Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I have to replace 2 Insteon motion sensors. I 'inherited' a Universal Devices EISY system from the previous owner of my home. I'm thinking that I should go to the IoX Launcher administrative console and delete all of the lines related to the old Insteon motion sensors which are no longer operable and then add the new motion sensors by following whatever instructions are provided by Insteon for the new motion sensors. Is that the way to properly change the motion sensors so that I can manage the motion sensors from the administrative console of the IoX Launcher? Or do I somehow add the new motion sensors (after deleting the old motion sensors) by doing so using the administrative console of the IoX Launcher?r I am a novice with all of this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Guy Lavoie Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago No, the trick is to add the new motion sensor first, with a temporary name. Then locate the one you want to replace in IoX, right click on it, and choose "Replace with", and select the new one you just added. IoX will do the changes needed in all the programs and device links to replace the old one with the new device, and unconfigure the old one, so you just physically replace it. Quote
Brian H Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago You have to wake up motion sensors before you can access them to make changes. As they go into power saving sleep. If you have the motion sensors model number and need the users manuals. Post them and we maybe able to help. Quote
paulbates Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) You also have to move the existing motion sensor up to the root level folder of the first iox tab. You can move the new back to it's location after the replace finishes. Trice can be quicker/easier, especially if scenes are involved Edited 2 hours ago by paulbates Quote
