I opened a ticket with UDI on thon this months ago and unfortunately, I'm just not gettin helpful responses. Very unUDI like. Anyway, I'm got issues with just about about every matter device I've tried to add to eisy. They in include:

This device adds to the system but shows up in the AC but with no controls at all.

Then I tried to add a bunch of Smartwings matter over thread smart blinds. Same problem. They add to the system but no controls to actually operate them.

Lastly I tried to a a matter over thread innovelli Dimmer. This just freezes while adding and never appears in the AC.

If anyone has any advice, thanks in advance.

Did these devices work with the eisy prior to 6.0 update? Matter is still being worked on (by UD) and only a few items have been said to work. I've not added any Matter devices (don't really need them (or want) them yet), but more than likely you've jumped the gun trying to add devices that aren't supported yet.

Remember the Matter announcement (from Feb 2025) https://www.universal-devices.com/2025-liftoff-2/ - I don't recall seeing any other announcements of other devices being supported.

True, but my guess is they've been focused on eisy-ui and the latest firmware/os updates. There haven't been any announcements of expanding the Matter support other than the matter plugin that helped connect to Apple Homekit.

I guess I fail to understand see the value of the big Matter / thread release if it’s still not possible to add Matter devices to the platform seamlessly. Wasn’t that the whole point?

As it relates to the plugin to make iox devices work in HomeKit, all I can can say is that it’s totally unreliable and, as far as I I can tell, unsupported. I also opened tickets on the plugin and was redirected back to the forum.

Well even in 6.0.0, Matter is showing as Alpha Test Version. We're basically being offered to try it out and discuss our findings. I personally enjoy being included in the test phase. It'll come along.
