December 30, 2025Dec 30 I have had the Govee outdoor lights installed and has been working with EISY via matter (wifi) for several months. A couple days ago, they stopped working. After desperate attempts at "synchronizing" the network, I have deleted them from the EISY and factory reset the Govee lights. I tried re-adding them back to EISY and it fails. I then tried adding the Govee lights to google home via matter and it worked. I successfully shared them from google with Alexa. When I try to share them from google to EISY, the process appears to get hung up. When I try to share them from Alexa, the process appears to hang up. These particular Govee lights do not seem to sync via the Govee plug-in. As near as I can tell, matter is the only way to control them from the EISY.Has anyone else had this or similar experience? Thoughts?
Thursday at 10:48 PM1 day I'm having the same issue with a Tapo TP-Link matter on/off switch. I added it to google, then added it to eISY by share code. It worked for a few weeks then stopped working. I deleted it everywhere and reset the switch. Added it back to google and tried to add it to eISY via share code and it just hangs and doesn't connect anymore. iox finder says I'm at 6.0.4 Don't know what else to try. I was able to share coded and add it to Alexa, Both Alexa and Google can control the on/off switch, but I can't get it to add to eISY.\Same boat, just different switch.
Yesterday at 01:15 AM1 day Author Yes, I am very hesitant to use matter beyond experimentaion at this point. Most of the devices I have tried work intermittently, at best.
14 hours ago14 hr Did you know there are Govee 1 and Govee 2 revisions?I am not sure what the difference is but I know some software doesn't work with both version. There was a major change in the protocol. The PG3x plug-in only supports one of the protocols and it isn't matter, only the plain WiFi protocol. Edited 14 hours ago14 hr by larryllix
