Friday at 02:46 PM4 days @bmercier , I love new backup option and where eISY-ui is going in general. Thanks to UD and you!I’d love to see options to include:TopologyText version of all programsText version of variablesText version of all settingsText version of logsI manually do most of this when doing backup sequences. They have proven to be incredibly helpful. Clearly not everyone would want to wait while all of this occurs (especially topology) so that’s why I mention them as options. Thanks Edited Friday at 03:00 PM4 days by hart2hart
Monday at 12:49 PM1 day Thanks for the feedback & suggestions.I would see this as something separate from backup. Something like "Export configuration".The backup is meant to be restored, either on the same unit or a different unit. It is not meant to be opened for tinkering or troubleshoothing. The export on the other hand could be a text reference to a few things like you suggested when everything goes south and you can't or don't want to restore.
Monday at 02:21 PM1 day Author Thanks, @bmercier . Yes export configuration sounds great. I got most of them going back 15 years (which is excessive) and have referred to them many times. It’s been mostly research but something went wrong with programs a few years ago and I was much more comfortable using program listing to repair than restoring a backup. Have a great week.
Monday at 04:18 PM1 day That's one thing that hasn't been discussed with the eventual move from the java based admin console to browser based eisy-ui: it should now be possible to access two (or more) controllers simultaneously. The ability to copy/paste things from one eisy-ui session to another would certainly be a welcome feature. The "by reference (id)" design of nodes, variables, programs, etc would make that somewhat difficult, but thought should be given to making at least some of that possible.
Monday at 05:28 PM1 day Here is an example of what I mean: to copy a program, the program logic and reference type could be copied, and the actual reference be replaced by a placeholder. For example:Awning (unroll) - [ID 00B9][Parent 00B8]If 'IOL Awning Unroll Relay' Status is On And 's_Alarm_off' = 1Then Set 'IOL Awning Rollup Relay' Off Wait 50 seconds Set 'IOL Awning Unroll Relay' OffElse - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Would get pasted as:Awning (unroll) - <generated new id>If '<device status> ' Status is On And '<status variable>' = 1Then Set '<device>' Off Wait 50 seconds Set '<device>' OffElse - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
