Program not triggering - Insteon sensor switched ON

Featured Replies

Program 'Alarm!!+’ not working:

'Alarm!!+' Program – Enabled is checked and program saved

What is supposed to happen: If Insteon sensor switched ON, Set scene 'ALARM_All_Lights' = ON

Polisy Log – Sensor is switched ON - see attached

Scene ‘ALARM_All_Lights’ does not turn on when sensor is switched on

If I manually execute the 'Alarm!!+'  ‘Run Then’ the Scene turns on and notifications are sent

Ghosts in the machine... What could be wrong?

Thanks

An Insteon IOLinc v.41 is connected to my alarm relay outputs. When the Alarm is tripped, the relay output closes. The IOlink registers the closure of the circuit and Polisy recognizes the switching to 'closed'. I have verified that the AC console reports the IOLinc circuit closure when the alarm is tripped and reports the circuit opening when the alarm is cleared.

'12129Td/Alarm/ALARM - Intrucsion-Sensor' is switched On.

BTW - This worked about a year ago. Recently the house alarm tripped and I realized the ALL Lights scene was not turning on.

The IOLinc is a powerline only device, if you have noise on the powerline at the time the alarm triggers the IOLinc may not send its status..

Can you put the controller log into level 3 mode and then set off your alarm and post a copy of the log.

So it's looking for the control event, therefore it's not a status change issue. If you're seeing the status update in admin console then it's certainly getting the control event.

Your controller is seeing the status of the IOLinc

When you trigger the alarm does your program, '12129Td/Alarm/ALARM - Intrucsion-Sensor' show as red or as green in your program tree?

You might also try deleting and recreating the program.

When the alarm is trigged the program is Green.

I will try deleting and recreating.

Thanks

Unless your program runs false, it will always show as green. I am not sure that we can conclude anything from this. Instead, I would look at the program summary tab and see when was the last time the program ran. If the time does not match that of the most recent alarm trigger, then it did not see the signal.

Given the evidence (log and IOLinc status) suggests that the Polisy IS receiving the IOLinc status, have you checked to see if the program somehow became disabled? Is the program in a folder that somehow because disabled?

Based on the log, your iolinc is triggering program 0015.

Immediately after the trigger, the isy is turning on group (scene) 47. This appears to be a very large scene with 40+ members (I lost count)

The program and scene appear to be executing correctly. Can you plm communicate reliably with these devices? The plm appears to hear other devices. Can it transmit to them?

@SSamuels Sometimes the easiest solution to try first is to go to the program, make any adjustment that will require re-saving the program.

Try that before you get to involved in other solutions since you said that the MD is triggering and the program runs if yo manually run it.

Similar to what @Techman suggested above but w/o the need to recreate the whole thing.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Recreating the program worked.
