My Eisy has the internal Z matter board which is z wave 700. Is there matter board with z wave 800? I do have some matter devices so would need to keep that functionality.

Yes, there are now several Zwave and Zigbee dongles supported. See the list below.

The ZMatter board (despite the name) isn't involved at all with Matter, Matter uses IPv6 through your network interface. So whatever Matter functionality you currently have will remain the same.

That does not sound right to me. Is it, possibly, needed if one wants to use matter-over-thread?

Do you mean ZMatter board installed in Polisy? I’m not aware of a way to put it in eISY.

I think that was the initial plan. But even the latest release announcement tells us that you need a border router for Thread, and the Zmatter device is now discontinued.

Some Matter devices don't require a border router, it depends what type of matter device you have and whether it supports Wi-Fi or Thread

Border Router Requirements:

• Matter over Wi-Fi / Ethernet: No border router is needed because these devices connect directly to your home network.

• Matter over Thread: A Thread border router is required to bridge the low-power Thread mesh network to your main IP network. The eisy controller does not have a built-in Thread radio.

Of the zwave dongle choices listed above, I’d be prone to favor the sonnoff because based on measurements it is possibly that’s a full 1/2 wave dipole antenna. Thoughts?

Would like to try the Z-stick 10 Pro on my eisy running 6.1.1_3/3.4.23 (with ZMatter board). Where do I find the z wave backup on eisy ui so I can restore it to the Z-stick?

In the admin console, Z-wave > Backup

Before changing/adding a dongle remove power from the eisy

You should use a right angle usb adapater so the dongle is vertical
