I wrote a plugin that connect and control Bluetooth based led lights that use the Lotus Lantern and Lantern-X app and API. It works great except for 1 thing. I can search for the device and I can see it up to +-100ft away but when I try to actually connect to the device, over 30ft it will not connect. I am looking for a USB dongle that I can connect with a USB extender to get the range I need to get to the outside.

Has anybody had success with dongles. Everything I see says FreeBSD support for Bluetooth is outdated and slow and buggy.
