October 22Oct 22 I find the background (black) and the general color scheme of eisy-ui to be almost unworkable. In my case, I have lighting, sunlight, and dust problems on the screen which make many of the items unreadable... in addition some of the text are of colors that don't work well on a black background. Is there a way to change the color scheme?
October 22Oct 22 Under eisy-ui -->settings --> display you get a choose of light (black letters on white background) or the current white text on back
October 22Oct 22 Yes, though some of us have color monitors 😆It would be nice to pick a soothing background color.

I assume that might be a solution, but I could never find the settings although they may be in that black mess.
October 22Oct 22 For @bmarsh ---- @EricBarish told you where in the section you quotedAccess the menu by clicking on the three bars at the top left of eisy-ui. Settings is the second option from the bottom. Display is the third tab (the rightmost one at the top of the screen). Presumably you want to chose Light (bottom radio button) or System Default (top radio button).
October 23Oct 23 If you do not see a tab under Settings called Display, then you need to upgrade packages because it was a recent addition.
October 23Oct 23 It would be really nice if you could have alternating lines of slightly darker/lighter so you can follow across the page more easily. Or maybe very faint lined pages, like an excel spreadsheet, but not quite so obvious.
12 hours ago12 hr Author I have reloaded pgks many times and rebooted, etc. I still do not see DISPLAY under the settings.eisy-ui 1.46
11 hours ago11 hr Believe you’re looking at “system” rather than “setting” which is right above system
11 hours ago11 hr Author No, I posted that system information just to show what packages I was running, but I do look under settings for the display option
11 hours ago11 hr Author Wow, I just now found it. I would strongly suggest that UD makes the light display the default and let people switch to dark if they want it.. I started moving my cursor around the black screen, hoping that I would find a setting there that was hidden by the black and I did. I only saw the DISPLAY show up when I moved over it with the cursor otherwise it is totally ABSENT. I consider that to be ridiculous design. But at least now I have a light screen.
10 hours ago10 hr something about your computer seems different from mine and obviously also different from what UDI used when they designed/tested. You should stop to think that UDI wouldn't have delivered a design that looked the way it does on your system. But instead you just assume everyone else has the same experience you do and you "suggest" UDI conform to your experience. I find some readability problems withe the light theme (low contrast with some of the colored messages about update status) but I would never suggest that this was "ridiculous design." Might have been helpful to explain something about your setup. Also might have been gracious to thank those who went out of their way to tell you exactly where to find the Display setting rather than acting like you found it all by yourself. I'll certainly be less likely to help in the future if I remember your handle.
9 hours ago9 hr Author Well, I’m sorry that you seem to be offended by my comments, but you do have some valid points. And I do appreciate the responses to my original query, although everybody’s told me to look for. DISPLAY. But it was totally missing so I hope you can understand my confusion..I don’t think there’s anything unusual about my set up, it’s a normal desktop computer running run-of-the-mill monitor although my room set up with sunlight and other problems, including dust on the monitor makes a black screen rather hard to read. I found the setting to the right of the PG3. Setting, which was a totally black area until I moved over it with the cursor. Nothing that the normal eyeball could see.
