Zigbee maybe?

Has anyone else noticed that SimpleHomeNet has the ZBPLM, a 2412S compatible interface with a Zigbee radio and command set? Any chance for ISY support of the Zigbee part in the future?

Hi Tom,

 

Orchestrator series (only available through the utilities) already supports Zigbee SEP 1.0/1.1. Zigbee SEP 2.0 is supposed to be a little more compatible with HA profile but neither of 1.0/1.1 are HA profile compatible.

 

I have not seen very many interoperable Zigbee HA profile devices out there so, the answer to your question is: it depends on ROI.

I vote no. When a device/software like the ISY starts pursuing other protocols/networks, and tries to become everything to everybody, that is when the product eventually fades into mediocrity (Homeseer, mControl). I love the ISY-99i precisely because it does Insteon so well.
