killervette Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 So I wrote a RULE in Elk to turn on a light when i disarm my alarm. Then I wrote a statement in ISY that when the light turns on, do something. It will not run. If I physically use the switch, the rule runs. If I use ELK or eKeypad to turn on the light, it will not work. Any ideas?
TJF1960 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Is the ISY program looking for Control or Status of the light turning on? If its Control then change it to Status, if it is Status then it should work unless there are comm. problems I should think. Tim
LeeG Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 What type device ("light") is ELK turning On and how is it doing it. I did not think ELK had the ability to issue Insteon commands. Also unless the ELK is turning on an Insteon Scene that includes the ISY PLM the ISY will have no idea that ELK sent an Insteon command to a device. If ELK is sending an X10 command to turn On an Insteon device exactly what "statement" did you create in the ISY to react to this. Again, just turning on an Insteon device using X10 from ELK does not notify ISY PLM that an Insteon device change has occurred. You would have to Query the device on some routine basis to know about the device status change.
