raptor Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I had a program set up in my ISY 99i to turn on my outdoor lights at sunset and it worked perfectly. Recently had some problem with my ISY and had to reset to factory default and had no back up(I do now) Re programed my lights and everything works great except my outdoor lights don't turn on automatically. The time zone and sunset time are set correctly. Did a test program to turn on an indoor light at a certain time and it worked. The weird thing about the outdoor light is after sunset I checked the APP in my blackberry and it the status of the outdoor lights are shown as on. If I click on then the lights really come on. which would tell me that the ISY can in fact communicate with my lights. Any ideas what could cause this.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Hello raptor, This seems to be an INSTEON communications problem: the command is sent but the devices are not responding. Please try Tools | Diagnostics | Scene Test and see if the devices actually respond. With kind regards, Michel
raptor Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 If i try doing that it only allows me to test scenes. This is not actually a scene per say. It's a program telling 3 separate switches to turn on. Is there a way to test a program.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Hi raptor, Then the best thing to do is to check your logs and look for -2 on the last column. -2 is Device Communications Error. Please ensure that you do not have any of those during the times that you are expecting the switches to turn on. Furthermore, if you are using On, then please note that with On the device turns on to its predefined On Level. You might want to try Fast On. With kind regards, Michel
Sub-Routine Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Hi raptor, You can test a program. Open the Event Viewer and set it to level 3. Go to the Progam Summary panel and Run (Then) your program. Why don't you use a scene? They don't cost much Rand
raptor Posted October 21, 2010 Author Posted October 21, 2010 I made a new program using scene and now it works. Still can't figure out why I didn't work the other way. I compared both programs and they are identical except one turns on a scene and one turns on 3 switches. Oh well at least it works now. Thanks
