apostolakisl Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I suggest that you be consistent in using the words manages, managed by, controller and responder. When you add a switch, to a scene you are asked if you want it to be a "controller" or "responder". Once it is in the scene, the scene lists stuff as "manages" and "managed by". I suggest pick one set of words and use it consistently. Again, it is no big deal, but new users will waste time trying to figure out these things.
Michel Kohanim Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hello apostolakisl, Are you suggesting that we should use Controller instead of Manages and Responder instead of Managed by? If so, I think that actually makes sense! With kind regards, Michel

If so, I think that actually makes sense! With kind regards, Michel Yes, I would prefer to use the word "controller" and "responder" everywhere, I think those words are the most obvious description of what they do.
Michel Kohanim Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Thanks. How about Controls and "Responds to"? Or, "Is Controller for" and "Is Responder to"? With kind regards, Michel
Michel Kohanim Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Done. thank you. With kind regards, Michel
gatchel Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I have to admit, I agree with the changes the apostolakisl is suggesting as far as the terminology is concerned from within the ISY. They are a few of the things that caught me off guard as far as terminology is concerned when I started using ISY. What's even better that the fact that these suggestions for changes are being taken serioulsy and even applied to future versions. That's really really cool. It is one of the things that separates Universal Devices from the rest. Nice Job.
apostolakisl Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 Yeah, I told my wife and she was like, "Are you serious?"
