Linking a ControLinc

I have dusted off my ControLinc and was going to use it with some Lamplincs and Appliacelincs to control the Christmas Decorations. I have been unable to link to the ControLinc using the "Link to ControlLinc" Function from the administrative conrol panel. I even ran an extension cord from another outlet to the PLM and connected the ControLinc to the same extension cord. The ISY never recognizes the ControLinc. Help!

When you say nothing happens, you mean the Event Viewer popup does not display (in which case a delete of the Java cache is a good place to start) or the Event Viewer does not trace Insteon traffic (in which case Brians question is important)?

Last night, the ControLinc was not in My Lighting after several attempts to link to it. In addition, the event viewer would not open up. I shut everything down last night and when I opened the adminsitrative control panel, lo and behold, it was there. Then I tried opening up the event viewer and it opened flawlessly. Maybe I was too impatient waiting for the ISY to locate the ControLinc. I don't know but it is in My Lighting now. Thanks for the suggestions.

The ID-REQ command is not being processed by the ControLinc. I reproduced the same condition with my ControLinc. Add the ControLinc by using New INSTEON Device and select Device Type ControLinc from the pulldown.

Thanks! That worked perfectly. I figured since it was a brand-new device (arrived two days ago) it would work with the default settings.
