Niccolo Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I have an ISY-99i with Elk Gold M1 and, until recently, was able to access them remotely through dyndns. The router is D Link DI-624, the provider is Verizon FIOS. When I try now, I get an error message saying "the server where this page is located isn’t responding." Any suggestions?
fitzpatri8 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Verizon may change your IP address occasionally, at which point you want the router to recognize the change and update the dyndns site with the new IP. Make sure the router is correctly configured to perform that update, or install an update application on a networked pc you leave running. (There are links to update apps on the dyndns site.)
Michel Kohanim Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Hello Niccolo, In addition to the great suggestion from fitzpatri8, if you are using UPnP to do port forwarding, it's quite possible that your router gave ISY a new IP address and could not update the port forwarding rules. It's always best to setup port forwarding manually by either giving ISY a static IP address or DHCP reservation. Niccolo Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Thanks to you both. It is working again.
