Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Thanks so very much for all your help in this beta cycle. If no serious bugs are found, 2.8.11 shall become our official release.

Please do be kind enough to :

1. Test Network Resource delays

2. Retrieving logs

3. iMeter Solo Beep

4. Importing Network Resources does not overwrite IDs

For a list of changes, please take a look at this post:

http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... =6475#6475

Notes:

1. ISY-26 is no longer included in the firmware builds

2. Due to the sensitive nature of supporting MorningLinc, users now must agree to terms and conditions upon Admin Console start up otherwise the dialog keeps popping up every time the Admin Console is started

Instructions:

1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY)

2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip

ISY 99i Series: http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... 2.8.11.zip

OR 992i Series: http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... 2.8.11.zip

OR 994i Series: http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... 2.8.11.zip

3. Important

Due to invalid Java certificate chain in releases 2.8.5 and above, please make sure to remove all Universal Devices certificates from Java:

a. Close all browser sessions

b. Open Java Control Panel (Java Preferences on MAC)

c. Click on the Security tab. Remove all Universal Devices certificates (on MAC, click on the '-' button at the bottom)

e. Clear your Java Cache ( http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache

)

f. Go to http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.11/admin.jnlp

4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system]

5. Choose the file saved in step 2

MAC users: if upgrade fails, please add https://your.isy.ip.address to ISY Finder (see 3f above)

6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache:

http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache

7. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console:

a. http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only)

b. http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only)

c. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet

d. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application

e. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.11 - applet

f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.11/admin.jnlp - Java application

8. IMPORTANT If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one:

http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... rtificates

Thanks and with kind regards,

Michel

i upgrade from 2.8.10rc6 to 2.8.11 and the about screen still says 2.8.10.

I upgraded from a W7 64-bit client and cleared java cache after upgrade.

UPDATE: I upgraded a second time and now the about screen says 2.8.11. Seems like the same thing happended to me with several betas of 2.8.10

Exactly the same outcome on a Mac; I had to apply the update twice.

That is strange, Michel can you advise? BTW I used a Windows 7 machine to apply the update.

For those that do not show 2.8.10 after update, after clearing the Java cache, did you invoke the 2.8.11 Admin Console from the UDI web site to do the actual manual update?

I did this, backup my ISY, and install v2.8.11, then close out of all browsers and clear your java.

Reload your isy from your internet browser, and click administrative console.

Version 2.8.10 showed in the about screen.

I guess it's a bug with the update..

As reported, did this one more time and it published the correct version.

Lee - I used the following link to access the Admin Console:

http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.11/

and on the About Form the version is still saying v.2.8.10

For those who cannot upgrade: please NOTE that you will have to use http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.10/ or http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.10/admin.jnlp (or 2.8.11). You CAN NOT use your current version coming from ISY.

For future versions, this should not be a problem.

Polexian, no, this is not a bug. We did verify that we are sending the correct message/command. The LED brightness works ONLY on SWLs with BEEP. It does not work on others.

With kind regards,

Michel

For some reason the UDI Web Console does not work for me - I just see a "blank" console screen and never get a logon prompt.

I upgraded and saw 2.8.10. I ended the program, re-cleared the java cache, removed the certificate and re- upgraded (running locally).

When accessing the console I was prompted for the new certificate and the version now shows correctly as 2.8.11 .

So far so good, I'll update any issues if/when they happen.

Thanks...

Hello fkoplik:

Please checkout the last entry in this thread: http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... 3948#43948 to have the ability to replace with 2477DH

Hello Candide:

It is VERY important for you to clear the cache. If you are on a MAC, sometimes you might have to reboot your MAC for the cache to be cleared.

With kind regards,

Michel

Try turning off any firewalls or antivirus on the UDI web console issue. I had the same issue and this fixed the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion, I suspended web, firewall, intrusion and more on my Norton Internet Security, but that did not help.

I always clear the Java cache, but when running the Web console (the first link) I see the 'blank' console - but there is no "manually upgrade" option under the Help menu item.

If I run the JNLP I get Error: Not found. When it prompts me to enter the URL it tries to find it then simply says Not found.
