Mainiac Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I have a small system with 5 Key Pad lincs (8 keys), 4 dimmers, 4 lamp lincs, and 2 on/off switches. Only 2 of the KPLs have normal icons, 3 of them and all of the buttons show the green "pending change" icon. This is the same with half of the dimmers, lamp lincs and on/off switches. No matter how many times I query a device, or try re linking the device, the icons change from "writing" back to "pending chnage " icon. Do I need to do factory resets on these devices? How does one remove a device from the UDAC and then re add it through linking a new device? Thanks.
LeeG Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Mainiac Look at Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Info/Status. The popup should show the PLM Connected. Right click on a node with the green icon and select Write Updates to Device. It should not be necessary to delete a device and add it back. Lee
Mainiac Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 I did what you said and when I update the device, it changes to "writing" but when it's done, it goes back to the green "pending changes" icon. What else should I try?
LeeG Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I would have thought that all pending operations would have been done but maybe not. Try doing the same Write Updates to Device again. Perhaps there are multiple changes pending and only one at a time will be attempted. What firmware level is running on the ISY?
Mainiac Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 I'll try updating againg. In the mean time, I'm using 2.7.15
LeeG Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 If there are Scene updates pending all devices have to be updated at the same time to complete the Scene. Perhaps requesting a Write Updates to Devices for each device that has pending changes will allow all the pending operations to be completed.
Mainiac Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Lee, Thanks. I'll try that in the morning.
Mainiac Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Nope, still the same. I just don't think this is working. Lee thanks for all your help, but I think I need to start from scratch. Reset everthing to factory defaults and start again. This is so frustrating. It should not be this hard.
oberkc Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I agree that it shouldn't be this hard. My worst case so far is that writing changes to multiple devices would get only part-way complete. At that point, again (a second or third time) selecting the option to write changes completed the task. I am assuming you have no RF devices that require enabling the link mode in order to accept changes?
Michel Kohanim Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Hello Mainiac, Please do not restart from scratch since you are going to have the same exact issues if we do not figure out the cause. Please do be kind enough to contact our support so that we can find the root cause. With kind regards, Michel
