mitch236 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I have four Venstar 1700's and the one in the master bedroom is constantly listed in the log with -1 errors meaning there is a com error. I have a 2477D less than 10 feet away. Does this mean the 2477D is defective? The thermostat works well and the programming I set up runs without any noticable problems but I don't like errors. I hoping there's a way to verify the switch is defective. I want SM to swap it out (which they probably would do anyway), but I don't want to have my electrician swap out the switch and find the errors don't go away. TIA, Mitch
Michel Kohanim Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hi Mitch, What version of SwitchLinc do is this? If v35, then for sure you have to get it replaced. Otherwise, I would first check the attached load and make sure that the load is not causing any noise before anything else. With kind regards, Michel
Brian H Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Michel; Did the 2477D dual band Switchlinc ever have v.35 firmware in it?
mitch236 Posted March 22, 2011 Author Posted March 22, 2011 Michel, I have four of the 2477D's and all are v.38 The attached load is four CFL's so I'm sure that's where the issue is. I'll move the switch and try again. Thanks!
Brian H Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Are the CFLs dimmable? If not; they should not be used with a dimmer type switch. Many times even if they are dimmable. They can make power line interference that can effect things. The best thing is relay type modules and switches for CFLs.
