Unfortunately I have yet to figure out how to merge the posts.

To merge posts, go to the forum page (not the topic) and click the "Moderator Control Panel" link near the upper right.

In the MCP, select the 2 topics you want to merge (checkbox) and then near the bottom you'll see a dropdown menu where you can select "merge".

Hello Candide,

Would you please check the error log and see what type of errors you see for CLI-WBUG?

With kind regards,

Michel

Thanks for the reply.

There are a lot of errors, thousands, especially the plain -140005 errors, with just a few that have the 503 after them.

Hi io_guy, thank you. I shall give it a try.

Candide, those errors (especially 503) means that the server is down or not available temporarily. Have you tried changing the station and see if there's any improvements. I know for a fact that WB servers sometimes go down for maintenance. But, it should not last so long.

With kind regards,

Michel

Yes, I have also seen some WB stations become unavailable.

One station near me, a school, changes its call sign regularly, which is annoying.

However I still see errors, even if I use the airport station near me - which is always up and quite reliable.

I cleared the error log yesterday and now have more than 200 errors, even though it does appear to be getting data.

My internet connection is FIOS - 35mbit up and down.

Thank you,

Replaced a switchlinc relay using "replace device with". It does not appear to have saved the programs this device was a participant in. All show as 'not specified'. No time avail for additional testing but wanted to report.

Hello, ever sins upgrading to 3.1.4 & 3.1.5 I am unable to add new device by clicking on

Link Management

New Insteon Device

wehn I get to the auto discover screen, or even if I enter a device type and hit enter, the screen dissapears, and nothing seems to happen. Normally you get a screen telling you to hit the program button on your devices.

I thought it was a MAC OSC Lion upgrade issue, as I did upgrade my MAC recently to Lion. So I went to one of my laptops running WIndows 7, and get the same results.

Has anyone else experianced this?

Sorry if I posted this 2 times. Was not sure where it belonged.

Thanks

Andre

Since installing 3.1.5 my email notifications have been intermittent. In the previous release version (non-beta), the notifications were 100%.

I know the programs are triggering by looking at the last run time. I also added a variable that I increment every run. Today, it incremented 5 times (which is right), but I only received 2 emails. But the fact that I received 2 shows that the email properties are correct.

I just now triggered the program 4 times (opening a door). Variable incremented 4 times, so Insteon connectivity is fine. I received 3 out of 4 emails. The error log indicates no network connectivity, but yet i was logged into the admin interface over the network.

No new Insteon devices. No new network devices or changes to the network. The problem definitely started with the upgrade.

Now, this next part may or may not be related. In trying to find clues to the email problem, I opened the event viewer. The thing is receiving some sort of IR event about every few seconds. I covered the front ISY to ensure it wasn't picking up some wild IR light.

I can't say that I looked at the event viewer in the previous version, so I don't know if this is a new problem related to the beta, or if I have a possible hardware problem.

Thanks for any pointers

Kevin

Hello Candide,

This is indeed quite odd. Are you using DHCP or static IP address? If so, has your router/modem recently changed?

With kind regards,

Michel

Thanks again.

I am using a static IP address.

My internet is Verizon FIOS, my ISY is hooked to a GB switch off the Verizon supplied Actiontec router.

Generally it is very solid and reliable.

Nothing has changed recently (many months) except I added the irrigation module (and went to 3.1.5).

I cleared the error log th other day - but am still receiveing errors like below:

Hi Michel,

I'm also having a problem with notifications in 3.1.5. I'm seeing -50001 -13 and -50001 -16 errors in the log. When I click the test button from admin console, the error messages vary: "Data Timed Out", "Password Not Accepted", "Body Timed Out".

This is using a gmail account that was previously stable (smtp.gmail.com, port 587, TLS, 5000 ms timeout). My network setup is similar to Candide's; the ISY is connected to a Verizon FiOS Actiontec router via a gigabit switch.

However, notifications work fine if I use a .mac account instead (smtp.me.com, port 587, no TLS, 5000 ms timeout).

Thanks,

-Jim

Michel - What he said :) Exactly.

When I got the body timed out, the test messages went through. Like Jim, I then tried another server (yours via "use default"). So far today, that has been 100% - although 2 test messages still through an error on the console even though I received the email. I'm quite content to "use default". But it appears that the smtp code is not properly closing the connection and gmail appears more sensitive to that issue.

Are the IR button presses I mentioned earlier in the system log anything I need to worry about? Right now I'm only using 2 IR codes, so I guess as long as the spurious codes don't overlap with my live ones, it's no big deal.

Thanks

Kevin

I did some testing - and was not receiving email notifications with 3.1.5, for Verizon or Gmail.

I downgraded to 3.1.4, with no other changes, and email is now working.

I will test/check Weather issues and will update here.

Thanks for the continued great support...

This may or may not be a bug? In the program content I tried writing a program as follows IF time is after sunset (I tried both and/or) "before" sunrise. The "before" all ways goes back to after?? is this a dumb mistake on my part? I might as well include the last line of IF, "and status downstairs motion sensor is on". I have them in order sunset, sunrise, status. Thanks in advanced.

I was not able to recreate. The first example is not functional (as from/to should be used) but I was able to specify a Sunset after and a Sunrise before. The second example using From/To is the correct way to specify a Sunset/Sunrise time range. Be sure to use (next day) on Sunrise. Suggest posting what you can define and we can go from there.

If

Time is Sunset + 15 seconds

And Time is Sunrise - 15 seconds

And Status 'Motion Sensor-2-Sensor' is On

Then

- No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Else

- No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

If

From Sunset + 15 seconds

To Sunrise - 10 seconds (next day)

And Status 'Motion Sensor-2-Sensor' is On

Then

- No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Else

- No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Hello Candide/dennisric/RatRanch,

Apologies for the inconvenience. Upon further testing it seems that our performance improvements to the SSL library has caused ISY to be faster than before so timeouts greater than 1000 ms causes ISY to wait for a response from the server after it has posted the Body but the server closes the connection before the timeout. In short, now, the longer the timeout, the more errors you are going to get. So, please try 500, 750, 1000, and 1500. The most important test is to not get Server not responding (that's what the timeout should be used for). Once you have the timeout set, you can ignore Body timeout errors since the email has already been sent. You will be pleasantly surprised by the improved performance with shorter timeouts.

The extra errors are going to be fixed in the next release.

Please note that this issue only affects TLS (which depends on SSL).

With kind regards,

Michel
