twinch Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 This is probably well known somewhere, but I didn't find it so I'll ask. I'm finding that using ISY or any program that pokes On Level or Ramp Rate into SwitchLinc dimmer (2476D, 2476H) and other devices with firmware around v.28 don't take effect until I power fail the device. It kind of takes the wind out of your sails when you thought you could do this remotely. I thought maybe using a Remote Set Button Tap command 0x25 might cause the device to reread the values, but it doesn't. Is there any way to get the Ramp Rate and On Level to take remotely?
LeeG Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 twinch I have not seen anyone speak of a way to accomplish this short of power cycling the device. This applies to the Local values (On Level and Ramp Rate) only. Scene Responder value changes to On Level and Ramp Rate do not require a power cycle. I believe the long term answer is devices implementing the Extended Get/Set for adjusting these values. The firmware knows specific characteristics have been changed and they take effect immediately. Where those values are Poked into memory, the device has to power cycle for the new memory values to be picked up. Lee
Michel Kohanim Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Hi twinch, As far as I know, unfortunately not ... this is a known limitation of older firmware. With kind regards, Michel
