raydoc Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 For some reason my ISY99 has decided to change all ramp rates to 9 minutes and refuses to change them back. What is the best approach here? Thanks.
LeeG Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 raydoc The 9 minute Ramp Rate is normally the result of the information not coming from the ISY. A 0 value equates to 9 minutes and 0 is the value when nothing comes from the ISY. Are Status updates being posted to the Admin Console? Lee
raydoc Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 I'll check again when I get home. The ISY had frozen up when I was building some scenes and I thought that it had recovered. Maybe not.

raydoc Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 I have the correct version installed. When I log into the admin console I see the 9 min ramp rate. Should I reboot my ISY? I see all my programming but I assume that this is what is on my PC and not the actual ISY.

Does the Admin Console version being invoked match the ISY firmware level? If My Lighting is clicked such that a summary of all devices is shown is the Current State column blank for all devices? No information is stored on the PC. Most information is pulled from the ISY by the Admin Console. Device status information is pushed from the ISY to the Admin Console. If the Current State column is blank for all devices likely something is blocking the push of data. Firewalls and AV are common sources of blockage. AVAST just released a new update that has created problems. There is an AVAST configuration change documented as a work around. Kaspersky is another common source. Post back what the Current State column shows for all the devices. Lee
raydoc Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 I have had to power cycle the ISY several times tonight to keep it responding. Is this normal? I have now set up many scenes and automated functions and programmed a number of keypads. My problem tonight is that when I ask the program to enable internet access it fails but gives no messages to help troubleshoot it. Any suggestions?

The URL that invokes the Admin Console determines which Admin Console is being invoked. All devices show this, some devices, a specific device. What happens when the value is changed? Lee

Run Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer with Device communications events selected (most important option). Select one of the devices and change the Ramp Rate (Applied Locally) slider to the fastest rate. What is the device type, firmware level, and post the event viewer trace produced when the Ramp Rate slider was moved. Lee

Lee Tonight when I opened up the ISY it was back at the 9 min ramp and no current state in my lighting. On the event viewer there is no record as if I'm not talking to the ISY. I guess that I'll have to reboot the ISY again. I've got lots of other questions but I've got to get this sorted out first.

With kind regards, Michel Michel, I submitted a ticket. After we were working last night I made a new scene. The ISY let me do that. I added modules to the scene, OK. Changed dimmer settings, it said "updating" but didn't. Once we get this working I need consults on how to get the lights on kps synced with dimmer states so that I don't have to turn a scene "on" to make it run.

Not sure what you want to accomplish. Here are some Insteon facts that may help. A dimmer that is turned On through ISY Program control or the Admin Console does NOT then become a Controller and propagate the command on to its Responders. Insteon does not work that way. If multiple devices should react to a Program or Admin Console action a Scene must be turned On/Off. Secondary KeypadLinc button LEDs cannot be turned On/Off with Insteon Direct commands. The KeypadLinc firmware does not support this. Secondary KeypadLinc button LEDs must be controlled through a Scene. If none of this addresses the question I would be happy to help if you can expand on the scenario. Lee
