"Start Linking" issue

Featured Replies

Greetings!

Running ISY99i V.2.8.16

PLM: v92

When I click 'Start linking', I get a pop up window saying "liking in progress" for about 2 seconds, then it disappears. It's as if there is a linking in progress which is half complete or something. I have tried power cycling the ISY as well as the PLM with no luck.

Anyone have any suggestions on a resolution to this issue?

Thank you in advance!

If the PLM LED is blinking and the Start Linking popup is not visible things have gotten out of sync. Remove power from ISY and PLM for 60 seconds. When the ISY is back up after restoring power, before another attempt is made with Start Linking, does the Current State column show device status for most of the devices?

If not the ISY is not able to push status out to the admin console and start linking will not work. Exit the admin console and invoke it again. If the Current State column is always blank that usually indicates a router/firewall/AV issuing blocking the ability of the ISY to push device state information which includes the information for Start Linking to work.

Hi Lee, Thanks for the reponse.

The PLM LED was not blinking or lit at all. I removed power, waited 60 seconds, restored power to ISY, then to PLM, waited for everything to come up and logged in to the admin console. The current status IS showing for all devices. If I make a change to the state of a device (manually switching it on), I see the change in state in the admin console. PLM light is dim lit green.

Restarted "start linking". PLM light gets a brighter green (not blinking). Eventually it timed out with two errors, first was unable to remove existing links error, second was unable to set high water mark error.

Now when I try "start linking", still closes in a couple seconds.

I am able to add devices manually and communicate with everything. Just the start linking mode that is acting odd.

Thanks!

Would someone who uses a Dual Band PLM and Start Linking, does the PLM LED blink or is it solid bright when Start Linking is entered? I've not seen anyone note that the Dual Band LED does not blink but it may just not have been noted.

My Dual Band PLM LED blinks when in Start Linking mode. The only thing I can suggest since a power cycle has not resolved the problem is to Factory Reset the PLM and then do a Restore Modem (PLM).

After exhausting all other solutions, I did a factory reset and restoration this morning - all seems fine with link management now. Thanks to everyone who offered help.
