I was looking for some videos on You Tube that might have a tutorial on setting up a device (light switch, etc...), creating a scene, going through the Admin Console and the web interface.

One of the reasons for asking about a video is that I see pictures of the Admin console and I have seen references to some code ie If Then statements. Can one basically use the admin console for setting up devices, scenes, etc.... or is it coding or a combination of both?

As far as the coding is concerned...does one have to type every word or are there selectable phrases to create the code?

Hello williammanda,

Unfortunately there are no videos. To answer your questions:

1. You can add/configure devices/scenes

2. You can add/modify programs

3. Programs are point/click (you do not have to write anything except perhaps comments for your programs)

Our Wiki has extensive tutorials with pictures:

I know the UDI team is extremely busy with the on going upgrades you guys have been pursuing. Which by the way is greatly appreciated by me and tens of thousands of loyal customers!

If there is ever some sort of down time I would humbly ask that another on line session be given. Or as the OP has asked that a few simple You Tube tutorials be crafted to show new users the basics as to how to use this powerful tool.

I would like to vote for Lee G, or any of the power users to make a few videos for future reference materials. I know personally that having such a reference material would have eased the learning curve for me and the others.

Just some thoughts . . .

Teken . . .

Hi Teken,

Thanks so very much for the vote of confidence.

We'll do our best to beef up the documentation and perhaps add some training videos and material.

With kind regards,

Michel
