Falco Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Since the ISY has a log of all events that go on and usually kicks off certain timed events. I had this idea where you could chart your power consumption. You could assign each device a Watt value, and based on how long the device is on could generate how much energy was used by said device. This could also lead to the user inputting the utility company's "cost per watt" and could show the user how much energy their home is using per day, and that by dimming certain devices you could save X dollars. Could also lead to weekly, monthly or yearly chart trends. I know its not a high priority request, but for the sake of our future in this energy aware era, give it a few minutes of thought.
Michel Kohanim Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Falco, Excellent idea! As a workaround, can't we already get this information from the information in the log? Is so, are you suggesting that we just add the tools to do this calculation? With kind regards, Michel Since the ISY has a log of all events that go on and usually kicks off certain timed events.I had this idea where you could chart your power consumption. Falco Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 Yes, the implications of this feature look to be minimal, requiring only the "watts per unit" and the "Cost per watt" The rest seems to be already in place and just needs the processing to make the data useful.
aLf Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Then just send a check in care of Michel for 25% of all cost savings. Seems only fair. Just kidding, but this box WILL save many dollars or (Dinar). aLf
Sub-Routine Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I don't know, I'd be afraid to look when I run my trains Seriously though, this would be a nice feature Rand
