BrettWMD Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I am not receiving any events from any INSTEON devices in my network when operated locally, except for my 2420M Motion Sensor. I have factory reset my PLM and have restored the PLM as well. I'm running PLM firmware v98 and ISY firmware v2.8.16. I've tried all log levels in the event viewer but am seeing nothing! Any help is greatly appreciated. -Brett
LeeG Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Could be a defective PLM in that it will not interact with the powerline but does handle RF. Can you turn devices On/Off through the Admin Console. This can also be a router/AV problem blocking data the ISY is trying to push out to the Admin Console. Is Kaspersky or Avast being used?

I can do everything else with the system; control devices via the admin console, run programs (time based), and everything that is initiated by the ISY is logged in the event log. I'm not controlling from outside my local network but I'll have a look at the router logs. Not using Kaspersky or Avast on any computer in my network. I do have Symantec on one PC but have turned that off to no avail.
LeeG Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Do a Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Links Table and then click Count to get a count of the PLM link records. Then do a File | Restore Modem (PLM). Follow that with another Show PLM Links Table and Count. Are the number of link records different. Be sure no Insteon traffic is flowing when doing the Show PLM Links Table as Insteon traffic reaching the PLM can adversely affect the link records read.
BrettWMD Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Are the number of link records different. No sir. I get 28 both times.
BrettWMD Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Ok, some good news... I just deleted a device then re-added it and now I'm getting information in the event viewer for it. My ToggleLinc Dimmer v.35 is now showing. Will I need to delete and add each of my devices in order to get ISY to see local control events now?
LeeG Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 You can try doing a Restore Device rather than deleting and adding the device back. It would be very strange for all the devices to lose their respective link databases. If the Restore Device does not fix the device then a delete and add is the correction.

Restore Device doesn't seem to be working. I guess I'll have to delete/add my devices. No big deal I suppose. Thanks for the suggestions! -Brett
Michel Kohanim Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Hi Brett, I think you have one of those PLMs that have issues with RF devices. Please send an email to tech@universal-devices.com and we'll try to sort it out for you. With kind regards, Michel
