Robert Messenger Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I have a Telular SX7T Premise Access Transport Hub installed at a remote home that has NO cable or telephone land line service. The hub has a SIM card and is connected via an AT&T wireless account. This allows both telephone and internet hard wired services within the home. I have a Honeywell security system and an ISY installed and connected to the wireless internet hub. The alarm system is monitored through AlarmNet via the internet. I can also remote access the security panel via AlarmNet for unloading/downloading, arming/disarming and to view the event log without making any changes to the Telular device or by adding port forwarding. I cannot remotely access the ISY even with port forwarding enabled. How does Honeywell AlarmNet allow me access? Is there a way I can access the remote ISY without paying for a staggering monthly static wireless IP charge? Is there remote service like AlarmNet for ISYs? Bob Messenger
Michel Kohanim Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Hello Mr. Messenger, In all likelihood, they do have a proxy server out on the Internet and the communications are initiated from the device to the cloud. There are multiple proxy/portal providers for ISY as well (such as MobiLinc Connect) but they do charge monthly fees. What I do not understand is how come you are not allow to do port forwarding on your router? Most Wireless providers do support port forwarding and I just do not know why your ISP does not. With kind regards, Michel
